My client Panopticon Software has launched version 5.9.3 of its data visualization software suite. This new version incorporates improved support for capital markets requirements,
including enhanced visualization of real-time streaming feeds and analytics functions for
time series historical data. I hosted a webinar explaining the benefits and functions of this new version as well as promoting it to our clients and partners around the world. Panopticon's specialized data visualization software is optimized for handling real-time streaming feeds, column-oriented databases, CEP engines, and traditional relational databases. I am hosting a series of webinars for my client THX Ltd on Color Science and other topical issues. The latest webinar focused on the nature of color gamuts supported by various professional and consumer displays, how Look Up Tables (LUTs) work and how to properly characterize and calibrate displays using THX cineSpace™ software. I spoke to three classes at Indiana University on a recent visit there. The main topic I addressed is the changing economics of the content creation and delivery business. It was a great experience for me and hopefully for the students as well. They had some excellent, insightful questions and I was quite impressed with their grasp of some of the major issues facing the studios and networks today. I completed a business development project for THX Ltd. THX was founded by George Lucas to ensure that theatergoers were able to enjoy the Star Wars films as they were intended to be seen and heard. Today, THX provides a wide variety of technology and services designed to enhance the quality of the media experience to consumer electronics manufacturers, cinema venues and automotive manufacturers. I completed a market research project for venture capital firm Investor Growth Capital, the VC arm of Investor. IGC invests in high-quality, growth-oriented companies, primarily in the information technology and healthcare industries, in North America, Northern Europe and Asia. I launched a new website for Quantalyst, a management consulting firm based in Los Angeles. I developed a completely new site design and worked with the firm to generate new content. My client Edgeware won the IMS Innovation Award for their on-demand video solution. I was on hand at the ceremony in Beverly Hills, California to accept the award on behalf of Edgeware.
Major cable and telecommunications operators all over the world use Edgeware's flash memory-based, high capacity video servers to deliver movies, TV shows and other content as part of their Video On Demand systems. I researched business models for "Over The Top" content distribution, technology changes and preferences at the consumer level and identification of potential investors for a feature film distributor (client's identity is confidential).
I worked with Open, a creative services firm, to develop a new marketing profile, including a completely new website, for Net Insight. Net Insight builds telecommunications equipment used to transmit high quality video over IP and fiber networks with extraordinarily high efficiency. Their clients include the largest telecommunications service providers and television networks in the world. They won for their highly innovative and industry-changing work on image processing technology over the last 20 years.
